The top two contenders are clearly the two teams that played in last year’s Super Bowl: the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. The NFC is experiencing a dearth of talent right now, as evidenced by the fact that there are just four NFC teams in the top 10 here, so the Eagles really shouldn’t have too tough a time getting to Super Bowl 58.
Their top competition would seem to be the 49ers, and with good reason. Kyle Shanahan has built arguably the most talented roster in the league, but unfortunately it is wanting at a pretty important position: quarterback. They should give the Eagles a run for their money, but the Eagles still offer more value.
While Dallas does have an elite defense, their offense is going through some changes and offers more questions than answers right now so steer clear there. The Lions are a fun pick as well, but not a serious one with Jared Goff at the controls.
In the AFC, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are still the team to beat, but Joe Burrow and the Bengals could take them down on any given Sunday. The Bills are always involved, but they’re not looking quite as scary as they have in past years.
New additions in Baltimore, New York, and Miami will continue to try and mesh together into something that looks like a championship roster. In Baltimore the Ravens will hope Lamar Jackson can lead a truly well-rounded offense, Aaron Rodgers will try to make it work in the Big Apple, and the speed will continue to try and win the day in Miami. The Jets and Dolphins are particularly interesting long shot bets here.
