T1 vs JDG semifinals betting details and preview

The 2023 League of Legends Worlds semifinals are here. Weibo Gaming will take on Bilibili Gaming on one side of the bracket. The other side of the bracket features a much more interesting matchup. The top team from the LPL and 2023 Mid-Season Invitational champions will play against the LCK’s most famous team with LoL’s greatest player of all time leading the way. This is probably the most intriguing semifinal matchup possible this year. Both teams should have a great shot to leave with a victory.

Quick Take

  • Faker and T1 looking to reach another final
  • JDG the betting favourites
  • JDG looking to win MSI and Worlds

Game details

T1 will play against JD Gaming on November 12 in South Korea. JDG are the LPL’s number one seeded team. T1 are the LCK’s second seeded team. JDG are the betting favourites heading into this best of five series on LoL betting sites. They have -152 odds to win on Bodog. T1 are slight underdogs. They have +110 odds to advance to the finals.

Will Faker and T1 make another Worlds final?

Faker and T1 have found themselves in another Worlds semifinals. No matter how many times this roster changes or comes up short at Worlds, they always find a way back into championship contention. T1 defeated LNG, the LPL’s #3 team, 3-0 in the quarterfinals to advance to the semifinals. T1 is arguably the greatest organization in League of Legends history. Every year they find a way to compete in the LCK and at Worlds, in large part because of Faker.

On paper, T1 should not win this series because JDG has been dominant this entire year. T1 lost LCK’s spring and summer finals this year. They have not been able to finish off a split with a championship so far this year, but this is T1 and Faker we are talking about. They are more than capable of defeating JDG if they are at their best. Remember, this is the exact same team that was one game away from winning Worlds last year. Although JDG have a lot going for them this year, T1 has everything they need to pull off the upset. This team has been through this before, has the greatest player of all time, and has a loaded roster. If there is a team that can take down JDG, T1 is the team. Last year’s run by DRX proved that Worlds is truly a tournament that can be won by an underdog. JDG have been dominant, but they can be beat in this series.

JDG

JDG have had a fantastic year so far. They won this year’s Mid-Season Invitational. They won the LPL’s summer split, and now they are in the semifinals at Worlds. They have won every major LoL trophy that they have competed for this year. Based on their performances throughout the year, there are very few reasons to bet against JDG in this tournament. In their quarterfinal series against LNG, they looked dominant throughout the series after losing game one.

Game two of the series was close until JDG’s ability to fight as a team took over the game. The rest of the series was mostly about JDG. LNG had their moments, but JDG’s ability to fight was too much. JDG has a strong roster, and has been a dominant team this entire year. With former champion Jaehyeok “Ruler” Park at marksman, JDG has a star and championship experience on their roster. To beat T1, you need to be able to go stare Faker in the eyes and not blink. JDG has all the experience, titles, and talent needed to do that. Winning this series will put them in a great position to finish this stellar year off. JDG will not be an easy team to beat.
