With Copa America and Euro 2024 behind us, it’s time to focus on domestic football. Over in Italy, the Serie A title race isn’t expected to be too competitive ahead of the 2024-25 campaign, with Inter Milan a clear frontrunner to repeat as winners after finishing 19 points clear at the top of the table last season. Juventus, Napoli, and AC Milan are clubs to watch, too. Below, we’ll preview Serie A futures and discuss how some of these contenders will look this season.

Inter Milan

Inter was utterly dominant in 2023-24, compiling an impressive 29-7-2 record. AC Milan wasn’t even close to catching them in the title race as they went on to win their second Scudetto in the last four years. The Nerazzurri were led by Argentine Lautaro Martinez who bagged 24 goals in just 33 appearances. Marcus Thuram and Hakan Calhanoglu also scored 13 times apiece to help spearhead the Inter attack. The club will have some new additions this term, adding Marko Arnautovic and Piotr Zielinski. The two will give them more depth. There’s not much stopping Inter from repeating, hence why they sit as -133 favorites at 888sport.

Juventus

A lot of drama has surrounded Juventus in recent years but they appear to be slowly getting back on track. The Old Lady finished in third place last season with a 19-14-5 record. Serbian Dusan Vlahovic produced the goods up top, scoring a team-best 16 times. Weston McKennie meanwhile supplied nine assists. Douglas Luiz and Khephren Thuram have joined this summer while Jadon Sancho is rumored to leave Manchester United and come to Turin, too. Juve will need to be more consistent this season if they want to compete for the Scudetto. They’ve won a record 36 times but haven’t lifted the grand prize since 2019-20.

AC Milan

While Milan was far behind Inter in second spot last term, they had a respectable campaign, collecting 75 points from 38 games. The 2021-22 champions had Olivier Giroud leading the line as the Frenchman scored 15 goals. Christian Pulisic, who arrived from Chelsea, hit the ground running and also had 12 goals along with eight assists. Giroud is now gone however after joining LAFC, so the Rossoneri will turn to another seasoned striker in Alvaro Morata, who just came over from Atletico Madrid. Hopefully, he can replace Giroud and be the main man for Milan. Paulo Fonseca’s men have the third-best Serie A odds at most soccer betting sites.

Napoli

Napoli took a major step back last season after winning it all in 2022-23, finishing in 10th place. That was absolutely dreadful considering they were the holders. But, the sportsbooks believe Napoli will be better in 24-25 with no European competitions to focus on. Victor Osimhen remains at the forefront of this project despite rumors he could leave for the Premier League. He bagged 15 goals last term while Georgian sensation Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scored 11. The club also brough in left-back Leonardo Spinazzola on a free transfer.
