Since week 14 the Buffalo Bills have a perfect record. The Bills last loss was to the Philadelphia Eagles in week 12, a 37-34 game. They are 6-0 following that game and won games against the Chiefs, Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins, and Steelers in round one of the playoffs. The Bills continue to find ways to win games, whether with their defence, running the ball, or behind quarterback Josh Allen’s arm. The Bills have shown the ability to win games in a variety of ways. They often found ways to lose during the first half of the regular season.

The Bills should have a great shot in this game because of their play on both sides of the ball. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs have talent on offence, but that talent has not resulted in a ton of points. The Bills and Chiefs played one another in week 14. Buffalo won that game 20-17, but could have been on the losing end if one or two plays went Chiefs’ way. This team looks like they have gotten better since then thanks to decisive wins against playoff teams. If the Bills continue to play well on both sides of the ball, they will be tough to beat. It is hard to imagine how the Chiefs will win this game if Allen has a great game and his defence plays well.

Although the defending Super Bowl champions have looked beatable throughout this season, they have been trending upwards — similar to their opponents on Sunday — since they played the Bills in week 14. Head coach Andy Reid’s squad lost only one game after losing to the Bills. That loss was to a reinvigorated Las Vegas Raiders team that scored 63 points the week before. The Chiefs have Mahomes at quarterback and one of the best defences in the league this year that just held the Miami Dolphins to seven points in the first round of the playoffs.

If Mahomes does not have a bad game and the rest of the offence carries their weight, the Chiefs should be in this one. This team has a ton of playoff experience and knows how to win big games in the playoffs. And in their minds, they probably believe they should have beat the Bills in week 14. Allen has been great for the Bills, but the Chiefs have two Super Bowls with Mahomes under center. Are you sure the Bills and Allen have what it takes to beat Mahomes, Reid, Travis Kelce and the Chiefs in the playoff game? The Chiefs have two playoff wins over the Bills in recent years, a 38-24 win in 2020 and a 42-36 win in 2021.
