NFL: 2024/2025 Futures Released, Kansas City Chiefs Not the Betting Favourites for Super Bowl 59

The end of the NFL season does not mean you have to wait until after the draft or the season starts to put down some bets. The odds for most teams are probably longer right now than they will be after a few games into the regular season, so bettors can win big by placing early bets. The Chiefs were the betting favourites after winning Super Bowl 57 last season. Not this year. And a few other teams are a little further back than expected.

Super Bowl 58 MVP Patrick Mahomes is the best player in the league without a doubt at the moment. Some are debating whether or not he is the greatest quarterback and player in NFL history.

The Chiefs were underdogs in the playoffs when they stepped onto the field to play against the Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, and 49ers in the Super Bowl. Now after a Super Bowl win in overtime, the Chiefs are not the early betting favourites to win Super Bowl 59. The odds for the 2024/2025 NFL champions are available right now on a ton of NFL betting sites. The Chiefs currently have the second best odds to win the 2024/2025 Super Bowl on Tonybet. The Chiefs have +699 odds to win their third straight Vince Lombardi Trophy. Brock Purdy and the 49ers are the betting favourites despite a tough, close loss to the Chiefs. The 49ers have +499 odds to win the championship next season.

Buffalo Bills & Detroit Lions right behind the 49ers and Chiefs

Reigning regular season MVP Lamar Jackson and the Ravens currently have the third best odds. The Ravens are at +935 right now. This team was not in the top five after the 2022/2023 season ended. The Ravens should be a solid choice this early. The Ravens were competitive in their game against the Chiefs and should have a shot in the playoffs if Jackson and their defence can continue to play at a high level.

The Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions are right behind the top three. The Bills currently have the fourth best odds at +999. The Lions are fifth at +1219. The Bills have been knocking on the door for a while now. They had the second best odds after the 2022/2023 season ended on some sportsbooks. This is new territory for the Lions. When was the last time the Lions entered a season with the second best odds in their conference to win the Super Bowl?

A few teams too low?

At first glance, the Philadelphia Eagles, New York Jets, and Los Angeles Rams look like teams that are worth considering because of their odds. The Eagles currently have +1757 odds, good for eighth. This team was 10-1 before losing six of their last seven games. They can compete for a Super Bowl if they can get back to that form. The Jets have the 12th best odds, one spot behind the Houston Texans, at +2838. Everyone expects quarterback Aaron Rodgers to return to the field next year. The Jets could be in the mix if they can keep him healthy.

At +3071 the Rams are only one spot above the Chicago Bears. Their Super Bowl window might still be open with Matthew Stafford, Aaron Donald, Cooper Kupp, and Puka Nacua. The Pittsburgh Steelers also seem a little low at +7970. This was a playoff team, but the Steelers are tied with the Las Vegas Raiders and Arizona Cardinals for the 24th spot. If a couple of quarterbacks in the AFC go down again, the Steelers should at least have a chance.
