LoL: FlyQuest vs Cloud9 in the Upper Bracket Finals

The LCS playoffs are here. Two of the top teams in the North America LCS will play for a spot in the Spring Split Finals and for a chance to represent NA at the Mid-Season-Invitational. The loser heads to the losers bracket.

Quick Take

  • Upper Bracket Spring Split Finals
  • Cloud9 the betting favourites
  • FlyQuest the underdogs

Series Betting Details

Cloud9 will play against FlyQuest in a best of five series on March 23 in the Upper Bracket Finals of the North America LCS spring split. The winner will advance to the Spring Split Finals, and the loser will be sent to the Lower Bracket Finals. C9 are the betting favourites in this best of five by a decent margin on LoL betting sites. C9 has -313 odds to win the series on Betway. FlyQuest are the underdogs heading into this series despite having a better record during the regular season. FlyQuest has +210 odds to advance.

C9 defeated 100 Thieves 3-0 in the Upper Bracket Semifinals to earn a spot in the Upper Bracket Finals. FlyQuest defeated Team Liquid Honda 3-2 in the Upper Bracket Semifinals to advance to the Upper Bracket Finals. These teams played against each other on March 2. C9 won that game with a final kill score of 16-7 to go along with 11 towers and a 7k gold advantage. They also played on February 3. FlyQuest won that game with a final score of 11-4 with 11 towers and a 9k gold lead.

FlyQuest

Midlaner Nicolaj “Jensen” Jensen and FlyQuest are in the Upper Bracket Finals after defeating Team Liquid 3-2 in the last round. The series was back and forth, with each team winning two games before FlyQuest won the series in game five. Many of the games in that series were close as both teams were almost always within 5-10 kills of the other. The gold difference during those games were not too big either.

FlyQuest tied for the best regular season record with 100 Thieves. This team has a lot of talent as Jensen and top Gabriel “Bwipo” Rau lead the team as two of the most well known veterans currently playing in the LCS.

Cloud9

Cloud9 had an 8-6 record during the regular season. They won the spring split in 2023. With jungler Robert “Blaber” Huang leading the way, this team seems to almost always be in the mix as a contender. Cloud9 was a perfect 3-0 in the last round against the number two team in the LCS in 100 Thieves. That performance might be one reason why this team is favoured in this series despite having two less wins during the regular season.

The two regular season games between these teams were more one-sided than competitive. Each team won a game. C9 has shown the ability to not only compete with FlyQuest, but beat them in convincing fashion also. With a solid roster and a lot of experience, C9 should have a shot in this series. After defeating 100 Thieves 3-0, they will enter this series with a ton of momentum on their side.
