Gervonta “Tank” Davis vs Ryan “King” Garcia Fight Odds & Preview

The second press conference between Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia featured a lot of trash talk between the fighters and hype for their April 22 fight in Las Vegas.

Garcia predicted he would knock out Davis, and Davis said the fight would be explosive. The fight is being billed as one of the biggest matchups in boxing this year because Davis and Garcia are undefeated and still in their 20s.

Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquaio is an example of how long potential fights in boxing can be delayed. Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia are recognized by many boxing experts as two of the best young boxers in the world. They are also two of the most popular young fighters in the sport.

Garcia is a +210 underdog. In an interview with Fighthub, Golden Boys Promotions CEO and boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya explained why he thinks this fight is important.

“Ryan Garcia and Tank Davis, they’re at the top of their games. Whoever comes out on top will be the face of boxing, mark my words,” De La Hoya said.

Davis is the heavy favorite in this fight because Garcia is younger, less experienced, and hasn’t fought the same level of competition as Davis, according to many boxing experts such as Teddy Atlas. Davis has also never been knocked down in a fight. Garcia was sent to the canvas by Luke Capmbell.

The odds for the fight to go the distance is +240 for yes and -367 for no. Davis is known for his punching power and finding a way to knock out his opponent. Many in the boxing world don’t anticipate this fight going the distance because both men have knockout power.

Davis is the current World Boxing Association (WBA) lightweight world champion. Davis is listed at 5’5 and is a southpaw according to Premier Boxing Champions. A former three-division champion, Tank has defeated Ronaldo Romero, Isaac Cruz, and Mario Barrios prior to defeating Hector Garcia. According to Premier Boxing Champions, he is a five-time world champion over three divisions. He should be the toughest opponent Garcia has stepped in the ring with during his pro career.

Ryan “King” Garcia

Ryan Garcia is known for his speed and power. Max Kellerman said Garcia has fast hands and a lot of punching power during an interview with the 24-year-old boxer.  Garcia’s professional boxing record is 23-0. Garcia said he will knock out Davis on multiple occasions. Garcia has been knocked down before, but went on to win that fight by KO.
