Coolbet is closing sportsbook site and app in Ontario

Ontario has seen a number of sports betting sites enter the Ontario betting scene over the past year. Gambling revenue in Ontario has steadily grown, according to iGaming Ontario, so it may come as a surprise to some to see a sportsbook close its Ontario website. This is the situation for iGaming operator Coolbet. 

Coolbet announced it will no longer offer its services to people in Ontario after April 3, the sportsbook revealed on Wednesday. On April 3, Coolbet plans to shut down its website and mobile app. Coolbet will undergo a transition process before its services are shut down. The sportsbook has urged its players to withdraw their money as soon as possible.

Last Day to Bet 

Coolbet announced it plans to close the sportsbook by end of day March 22. Any bets that have not been completed because of an ongoing game, unknown outcome, or for any other reason, will be voided and refunded to the players.

Deposit Options Closing Soon

On March 21, all deposit options will be shut down on the sportsbook, according to the release. Players with an account balance lower than $1 CAD are being encouraged to use their remaining balance on bets or deposit enough money to reach the minimum $1 Interac withdrawal amount.

Players who have not made a previous withdrawal will be required to verify the bank account they are using to withdraw the funds.
